Suspect Taken into Custody Following Large Police Response in Minnetonka

MINNETONKA, Minn. — A suspect was taken into custody Thursday following a significant police response at the UnitedHealthcare campus. Minnetonka police reported that the apprehension occurred ‘without incident’ and reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat.
‘A suspect outside of United Healthcare has been placed into custody without incident,’ the Minnetonka Police Department stated via social media. ‘There is no threat to the public. We are continuing to clear the scene at this time.’
Although the police have not provided specific details regarding the nature of the incident, a city spokesperson indicated that earlier reports suggested the presence of a potential ‘intruder’ on the UHC campus which instigated the law enforcement response.
The situation comes amidst heightened security concerns faced by UnitedHealthcare since December, when a separate incident involving 26-year-old Luigi Mangione raised alarms. While there is currently no known connection between that case and today’s events, it has kept security at the forefront for the company.
This investigation is still underway, and authorities are expected to provide further updates as the situation develops. Residents are encouraged to stay tuned to local news sources for the latest information.
