Sydney Sweeney Glen Powell Romance Rumors

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Sydney Sweeney has publicly addressed the swirling rumors regarding her relationship with co-star Glen Powell. In an interview published on October 27, the ‘Euphoria’ actress insisted that neither she nor Powell fueled the rumors about a romantic relationship during their promotional efforts for the 2023 romantic comedy, ‘Anyone But You.’

“The press did it themselves,” Sweeney stated, refuting the notion that they played up their on-screen chemistry for publicity. She emphasized, “There was no leaning in, per se. Even if we were just standing next to each other, it was, ‘They’re standing two inches apart!’

While the speculation spotlighted their apparent connection, Sweeney clarified the bounds of their partnership. The 28-year-old actress said she and Glen, who is 37, maintained a strictly professional relationship at the time. “Glen and I genuinely care for each other and have a love and respect for one another,” she noted. “I love being with him, and I think people just truly saw a really beautiful pairing.”

Sweeney, who was engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino during the film’s promotion, added that it wouldn’t take much to persuade them to reunite for a sequel. “We are always open to it,” she said. “I think that when the right concept and script come to Glen and I, we will jump in hand-in-hand.”

The rumors also stirred controversy for Powell, whose past relationship with Gigi Paris ended amid the media tumult in 2023. Paris had publicly expressed her displeasure over the rumors, stating, “I just wanted respect, especially if it’s gonna be public. Don’t make an ass out of me.”

In a response to Paris’ comments, Powell mentioned in a September interview that he respects her perspective regarding their breakup. “I will always have nothing but love for her and respect for her,” he said, addressing how personal narratives can vary following a split.

Sweeney’s remarks come at a time when both actors continue to be linked in the public eye due to their chemistry both on and off-screen. Powell previously described their connection as natural, stating, “That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit—and it worked wonderfully.”

As the narrative develops, Sweeney is also promoting her upcoming film ‘Christy,’ set to release on November 7.
