Reynosa Tamaulipas Weather Forecast 2025

Residents of Tamaulipas, Mexico, are preparing for a significant drop in temperatures and potential rainstorms, according to forecasts from The Weather Channel and the Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN). Starting Sunday, January 5, 2025, temperatures are expected to plummet, with some areas experiencing lows of 3 degrees Celsius.

Reynosa, a major city in Tamaulipas, will see a sunny and windy day on Sunday, with temperatures ranging from a high of 31°C to a low of 10°C. Nearby cities like Nuevo Laredo and Matamoros will also experience similar weather patterns, with temperatures dropping as low as 5°C and 8°C, respectively. The state-wide forecast predicts maximum temperatures between 30°C and 35°C, accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of 15 to 25 km/h, with gusts up to 60 km/h.

Coastal areas are expected to face even harsher conditions, with wind gusts potentially reaching 70 km/h and waves rising between 1 to 3 meters. Isolated rainstorms, possibly accompanied by electrical discharges, are also anticipated, with rainfall accumulations of 25 to 50 mm. Authorities have urged residents to take precautions and stay informed about the evolving weather conditions.

By Monday, January 6, temperatures are expected to drop further, with lows of 4°C in some areas. The cold snap will continue into the week, with Reynosa experiencing a high of 16°C and a low of 5°C on Tuesday, January 7. Wednesday, January 8, marked as the return-to-school day, will see temperatures as low as 3°C, prompting concerns for students and commuters.

The SMN has advised residents to avoid outdoor activities during peak wind and rain periods, particularly in open or unprotected areas. The combination of strong winds, rain, and electrical discharges increases the risk of accidents and power outages. Local authorities are monitoring the situation closely and have issued alerts to ensure public safety.

As the week progresses, temperatures are expected to gradually rise, with Reynosa reaching a high of 22°C and a low of 13°C by Sunday, January 12. However, the unpredictable weather patterns serve as a reminder of the region’s vulnerability to sudden climatic changes.
