Tata Nexon Ev Red Dark 2024

Tata Motors has introduced the Nexon EV in a Red Dark edition, an iteration that was previously available with the pre-facelifted version of the Nexon internal combustion engine (ICE). The Red Dark edition was discontinued with the launch of the refreshed Nexon in 2023 but has now made a comeback. The latest Red Dark edition is based on the top-tier Empowered Plus long-range variant and is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Nexon EV Red Dark units have reached several dealerships across India, allowing interested customers to view the vehicle in person. The vehicle maintains a similar aesthetic to the regular Dark edition, featuring a unique carbon black exterior shade. However, some changes have been introduced. Notably, the 2024 version lacks the red highlights that were present in the pre-facelift version around the bumper and fog lights.

Continuing the all-black theme, the Nexon EV Red Dark rides on 16-inch all-black alloy wheels, and its rear also features a black bumper and skid plate. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with connected LED taillights, similar to those at the front, complete with welcome and goodbye animations.

Inside, the Nexon EV Red Dark sports an all-black dashboard complemented by red stitching. The most significant interior upgrade over the standard Dark edition is the red leatherette seat upholstery. Furthermore, a panoramic sunroof has been included, distinguishing it from its predecessors.

In terms of technology, the Nexon EV Red Dark includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, and an 8-speaker JBL sound system. It is also equipped with V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging capabilities. Safety features encompass six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera with blind view monitoring, and an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function.

The electric SUV is powered by a 45 kWh battery pack that claims a range of 489 km on the Modified Indian Drive Cycle (MIDC). This is an update over the existing Nexon EV, which also offers smaller battery options of 30 kWh and 40.5 kWh, providing ranges of 275 km and 390 km, respectively.

The Red Dark edition costs Rs 70,000 more than the regular Dark edition, which is priced at Rs 16.49 lakh. The Nexon EV competes in the market with the likes of other electric SUVs, offering consumers an affordable option within the burgeoning electric vehicle segment.
