Taylor Swift Shines at Wembley Stadium
Last night, Taylor Swift brought the house down at Wembley Stadium, kicking off the final part of her European leg of the Eras Tour. Joining her on stage was her good friend Ed Sheeran, and together they performed their hits, Everything Has Changed and End Game, much to the delight of the 92,000 fans in attendance.
This concert marked Taylor’s first performance since some of her shows in Vienna were canceled due to a terror threat, and it was also her return to the UK after the tragic incident in Southport that left three children dead.
Although she didn’t mention these serious events during her performance, it is reported that Taylor privately reached out to the families affected by the attacks. Her focus for the evening was clearly on her audience and the music.
As many fans know, the Eras Tour has featured surprise acoustic performances, and Ed’s unexpected appearance caused an uproar in the crowd. After performing their mash-up, they played End Game, leaving everyone buzzing with excitement.
Taylor also took a moment to perform Thinking Out Loud, one of Ed’s major hits, showcasing their friendship and musical chemistry. She praised Ed for joining her despite being in the middle of his own tour, expressing her gratitude to him and to the audience for their support.
The show was packed with energy and lasted over three hours, with Taylor keeping most of her interactions on script. She expressed how overwhelmed she felt by the size of the crowd and shared her emotions during this special moment in her career.
Fans noticed that her song choices can often reflect her feelings, including her selection of King of My Heart and The Alchemy, which kept some guessing about her state of mind but also emphasized her extensive catalog of music.
Security was tight for the event, with both a large police presence and strict policies regarding what could be brought inside the venue. Taylor’s Wembley run will continue over the next few nights, as she aims to set a record for the venue.
Her setlist includes songs from ten albums, 16 costume changes, and a tremendous amount of love from her fans, which is evident in the energy of her shows. Having already performed in various cities across the UK and Ireland, this part of the tour is shaping up to be quite memorable.
