A trial is underway in Manchester, where former math teacher Rebecca Joynes is facing charges of engaging in sexual activity with underage students. The accused, Joynes, is alleged to have been involved with two teenage boys, identified as Boy A and Boy B, whom she met through her teaching position.

Boy A, a 15-year-old student, recounted to authorities how Joynes, 30, had taken him shopping for a Gucci belt before engaging in unprotected sex with him at her residence in Salford Quays.

Following the incidents, Joynes was suspended from her teaching position and subsequently terminated. However, while on bail with restrictions not to be in unsupervised contact with minors, she allegedly initiated a sexual relationship with another teenage student, referred to as Boy B.

Boy B described how Joynes flirted with him via Snapchat, and their interactions eventually led to physical intimacy at her home. The student claimed they had engaged in sexual activities on numerous occasions, with him visiting Joynes’s apartment at least 30 times.

Shocking revelations emerged during the trial that Joynes became pregnant and later gave birth to a daughter with Boy B, who was also a minor at the time of the alleged relationship.

The prosecution argued that Joynes’s actions were illegal, as a 15-year-old cannot legally consent to sexual activity with an adult under UK law. The prosecutor highlighted the violation of trust and the inappropriate nature of the teacher-student relationships.

Throughout the proceedings, Joynes has vehemently denied the allegations brought against her, pleading not guilty to the six counts related to the sexual activity with underage individuals, two of which occurred while she held a position of trust.
