He recalled how his history with quarterback coach Thad Lewis helped pave the path back into professional football. “When everything happened with the high school situation, Todd basically was like, ‘We’re not going to let them do our guy like that.’ They extended that opportunity,” he said.

Bridgewater, known for his deep understanding of the game, stressed the importance of experience—both his and that of his teammates—particularly as they face the Eagles this weekend. “I’m just a huge fan, and I’m even more of a fan now that I’m on his team, and even more of a fan that I know his purpose,” he said, referring to Mayfield.
