Metro Detroit Weather Forecast May 2025

Detroit, MI – A significant temperature drop is forecasted for Metro Detroit this week, following a warm Wednesday.

After enjoying mid-70s temperatures in Southeast Michigan on Wednesday afternoon, residents can expect to reach for their jackets again. Lows will plummet to the mid-40s in cities like Detroit, Dearborn, Monroe, and Adrian. Rochester Hills and Fowlerville may see lows in the lower-40s, while Lapeer and Sandusky could dip into the upper-30s.

Northeast winds at about 10 mph could also bring the possibility of isolated showers overnight, particularly near and south of I-94. However, Thursday brings a brighter outlook with sunny skies and highs in the upper-50s to lower-60s. As the night falls, temperatures will drop to around 40 degrees, with some areas potentially facing frost.

Areas such as Ann Arbor, Milford, Grand Blanc, Oxford, and Shelby Township may see temperatures dip into the mid-30s. On Friday, weather conditions improve further with mostly sunny skies, providing highs in the mid- to upper-60s and lows in the mid-40s.

The weekend appears promising for Mother’s Day celebrations, with comfortable temperatures projected to reach the lower to mid-70s both Saturday and Sunday. As the following week begins, Metro Detroit temperatures could flirt with 80 degrees.
