Tesla Road Rage Suspect Arrested Again in Hawaii After Assault

HONOLULU, Hawaii — Nathaniel Radimak, the man known as the “Tesla road rage guy,” has been arrested again in Hawaii less than a year after being released from prison for similar offenses in Southern California. The 39-year-old was taken into custody on Thursday following an incident that occurred on the evening of May 7.
According to the Honolulu Police Department, Radimak allegedly sped past an 18-year-old girl who was parked on Halekauwila Street. After exchanging words with the teen, he is accused of exiting his vehicle and assaulting both her and her mother. Following the alleged attack, Radimak fled the scene in a gray Tesla.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that Radimak confronted the mother and daughter during what was supposed to be a routine parking lesson. Diane Ung, the mother, described the moment, saying, “He struck me like a Superman punch right inside my face. I fell down to the ground. Big gash in my head.” An infant was present in the teen’s car but was not harmed, according to police.
Radimak’s criminal history includes a series of road rage incidents in Southern California, where he was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including assault and vandalism. However, he served less than a year due to a variety of factors, including time served and good behavior. His early release was met with outrage by his previous victims.
Legal expert Lou Shapiro noted that overcrowding in California prisons often leads to earlier releases for non-violent offenders like Radimak. “He only served about 30-50% of his sentence,” Shapiro explained.
Since his release in August 2024, many have expressed concerns about Radimak reoffending due to his previous behavior and the relatively short prison time he served. A representative for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation emphasized that the decision regarding inmate release lies with the state and not the district attorney’s office.
The Honolulu police have charged Radimak with unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, two counts of assault, and contempt. He is due back in court for these new felony charges on May 9.
