Thanksgiving Store Hours 2025

Freehold, New Jersey – As Thanksgiving approaches, shoppers may need to plan where to find last-minute groceries or gifts. Some major retailers have announced their hours for Thanksgiving Day 2025, which will affect when consumers can shop.

On Thanksgiving, both Target and Walmart will close all their stores, returning to regular hours on Black Friday. Meanwhile, Whole Foods Market will remain open but with modified hours. Customers can shop at most locations from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 27.

ACME Markets will serve customers on Thanksgiving from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., while most Albertsons stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m. However, it is recommended that shoppers check with their local stores to confirm specific hours.

Big Lots will welcome customers on Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Kroger, along with Fred Meyer and Ralphs, will be open until 5 p.m. local time. However, most pharmacies will be closed that day.

Aldi stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and resume normal hours on November 28. In contrast, Fresh Market will be open from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and Publix will close early at 10 p.m. on November 26 before also closing for Thanksgiving.

As shoppers prepare for the holiday, it’s essential to verify local store timings, especially for smaller markets which may have unique hours. Amber Olesen, Florida Today’s food and dining reporter, says planning ahead is key for a stress-free Thanksgiving experience.
