Thief Steals Secretary Noem’s Belongings During Dinner in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed Monday that she was the victim of a theft while dining at a downtown Washington, D.C., restaurant on Sunday night.
Noem addressed the incident at the White House Easter Egg Roll, stating that the theft remains unresolved. The Secret Service, which is responsible for her security, reviewed footage from the restaurant’s security cameras.
According to a law enforcement source, the footage showed an unidentified white male wearing a medical mask who stole Noem’s bag from her table before fleeing the scene. The stolen bag contained multiple personal items, including her driver’s license, medication, apartment keys, passport, DHS access badge, makeup bag, blank checks, and approximately $3,000 in cash.
The stolen cash was intended for family activities over the Easter holiday, as confirmed by a statement from the Department of Homeland Security. “We can confirm this occurred last night. Her entire family was in town including her children and grandchildren,” the statement read.
The Secret Service has initiated an investigation to monitor any fraudulent use of Noem’s stolen financial instruments.
This incident has sparked concern over security protocols for high-level officials in public settings. As investigations continue, both the Secret Service and local law enforcement are working to locate the suspect.
The story will be updated as more information becomes available.
