Thousands to Participate in Montreal Marathon, Including Cancer Survivor Athlete
Thousands of runners are expected to fill the streets of downtown Montreal this weekend for the various events taking place as part of the Montreal Marathon. Among the participants is 21-year-old Alexis Carboni, a young man with an inspiring story of resilience.
Alexis Carboni, a hockey player currently in remission from bone cancer since September 2023, will be participating in a ten-kilometer race to support the Montreal Breast Cancer Foundation. This marks a significant step in his journey of recovery and commitment to a cause that holds special meaning for him.
Having resumed both work and studies, Alexis is using this race to celebrate his remission and to give back to the community. “It’s a way for me to say thank you and to help others who are fighting their own battles,” Alexis commented during an interview with radio host Patrick Lagacé.
Listeners can tune in to hear Alexis share his experiences and motivations in more detail on Lagacé’s show, broadcast on September 20, 2024.
In a separate radio segment, Frédéric Labelle discusses with Patrick Lagacé the dangers associated with the loss of control over a company’s Facebook pages. In another discussion, Guy A. Lepage, commonly referred to as the ‘King of the Plateau,’ talks about the 21st season of the popular television show “Tout le monde en parle” with co-hosts Catherine Brisson and Patrick Lagacé.
Meanwhile, former politician Luc Ferrandez voices his strong opinions regarding Luc Poirier’s potential candidacy for the mayoralty of Montreal, expressing his views on another segment broadcast on the same day.
