Three Men Killed in Gang-Related Shooting in Mfuleni

Mfuleni, South Africa – A gunman unleashed violence in the Happy Valley area on Friday night, resulting in the deaths of three men and injuries to an 18-year-old. The shooting occurred around 11:41 PM in Ekopoleni, according to local police.
Police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut reported that the victims, aged between 24 and 27, were shot as they gathered in the area. A fourth victim, who is 18 years old, was taken to the hospital with injuries, and his condition is currently stable.
After the attack, the assailant fled the scene in an Isuzu bakkie, driven by an accomplice. Police are actively investigating the incident but have yet to make any arrests.
Traut emphasized that detectives are following all leads, while operational units have been dispatched to maintain safety in the area amid rising concerns over gang violence. The shooting is currently being treated as gang-related, although the specific motive remains unclear.
The local community is shaken by the event, raising fears of increased violence in the region, which has seen similar incidents in the past.
