SOUTH LOS ANGELES, California — A triple shooting in South Los Angeles left two people dead and another injured on Saturday evening, police said. The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Dalton Avenue and Florence Avenue.

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers arrived at the scene to find two victims who were pronounced dead. A third individual was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but officials did not confirm whether the injuries were gunshot-related.

The shooting scene prompted a massive police response, with officers searching the surrounding area where the suspect or suspects reportedly fled after abandoning their getaway vehicle. LAPD’s air support was deployed to assist in the search.

About 90 minutes after the shooting, Eyewitness News captured footage of a man being taken into custody by police. Later reports indicated that a second suspect may have also been apprehended. However, there was still one more individual sought by authorities as of 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Conflicting reports emerged regarding the whereabouts of the outstanding suspect(s), and police have not confirmed any specific arrests related to the case. Investigators did not reveal a motive for the shooting and have yet to provide details on the suspects.

The LAPD urges anyone with information to come forward as they continue their investigation into this violent incident.
