CHICAGO, IL — The Chicago area could experience several rounds of thunderstorms on Wednesday, according to local meteorologists. Tuesday will be hot and humid, with scattered storms developing throughout the day.

ABC7 Chicago Meteorologist Larry Mowry reported that the entire area will fall under a Level 2 severe weather risk on Wednesday. The most significant threats include gusty winds and hail, but other severe weather hazards are also possible.

The storms are expected to arrive as early as Wednesday morning, with the main window for severe weather occurring between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mowry explained that a cluster of storms forming to the south could impact moisture levels in the Chicagoland area, potentially limiting the chances of severe storms.

There is also a likelihood of pop-up storms on Tuesday evening, bringing heavy downpours to the region. The chance for scattered storms may persist into Wednesday as well.

As the week progresses, residents can expect drier conditions on Thursday. Temperatures will soar into the mid-to-upper 90s as they approach the weekend, with heat indices above 100 degrees on Sunday and Monday.

Weather forecasts indicate that seasonal heat and humidity will dominate the North Texas region this week, with high temperatures hovering around the low to mid 90s and a heat index between 100 and 103 degrees.

Despite the potential for thunderstorms on Wednesday evening, severe weather is not anticipated in North Texas, although gusty winds and hail could occur before the storms weaken overnight.
