Father's Day Weather Forecast

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Father’s Day weekend will bring a mix of weather, including chances for storms in southern Minnesota and northeast Iowa. High temperatures on Saturday are expected to reach the 70s and 80s, accompanied by humid conditions with dew points in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Earlier in the day, stray storms developed in northeast Iowa, and as evening approaches, the chances of showers and storms are set to return. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed the viewing area under a Level 1 Risk for strong storms, indicating a potential for hail and wind.

As the night progresses, heavy rainfall may occur with thunderstorms, and the storm risks are forecasted to extend into Father’s Day morning. Following a brief break, isolated showers and storms could roll through southern Minnesota and northeast Iowa throughout the afternoon.

On Father’s Day, mostly cloudy skies are anticipated with highs again in the 70s and 80s. Dew points are expected to remain in the 60s, maintaining a humid feel. The storm chances are predicted to linger through the week, with the SPC issuing heightened risk levels for Monday.

This serves as a reminder for residents to keep their umbrellas handy as unpredictable weather continues. “I hope all the dads and father figures have a great Father’s Day Weekend!” said a local weather anchor.
