TikTok Influencer ‘Nurse Hannah’ Under Investigation After Viral Video of Toddler’s Reaction
Hannah Hiatt, known online as ‘Nurse Hannah,’ is currently under investigation following a viral video that has sparked concerns about the welfare of her two-year-old son, James. The video, which was initially posted and later deleted, showed Hiatt grocery shopping with her husband, Braxton, and their son. In the clip, James is seen sitting in a shopping cart when his father hands him a boxed item from the frozen food section. Many viewers interpreted James’s reaction, where he lifts his hands to his face, as a defensive gesture, suggesting he might be flinching from his father.
The video, which was reposted by other users on TikTok in November, garnered significant attention and criticism. Several commenters expressed concern that James’s reaction indicated he was afraid of being hit by his father. These concerns were severe enough that some users reported the incident to Child Protective Services (CPS). The Ogden, Utah, Police Department has confirmed that there is an active investigation into Hiatt due to numerous reports through CPS and the police.
In response to the backlash, Hiatt addressed the situation in a follow-up video posted on November 29. She defended her husband, describing him as the “sweetest, nicest, kindest, most loving, most nurturing father in the entire world.” Hiatt explained that the interaction in the video was just a game where her son and husband were playing and scaring each other.
Hiatt also criticized those who compared her to another mom influencer, Ruby Franke, who was sentenced to 60 years in prison for child abuse charges earlier this year. Hiatt found these comparisons “comical” and argued that people are often desperate to gain fame on social media, even if it means spreading unfounded accusations.
Despite the ongoing investigation, Hiatt assured her followers that her children are “happy” and “healthy,” stating that they are well-nourished and active, which she believes indicates that everything is fine at home.
