Zapopan, JaliscoValeria Márquez, a 23-year-old TikTok influencer with over 90,000 followers, was shot and killed at her beauty salon on May 13 while conducting a live stream. The tragic incident occurred in her establishment, Blossom The Beauty Lounge, and was captured on video.

Hours before the shooting, Valeria had posted a photo of herself at the salon, dressed in a pink bodysuit and white pants. She was also promoting her services on social media that day. During the live stream, a series of suspicious events unfolded that seemed to foreshadow the attack.

Érika, an employee of the salon, reported that a man pretending to be a delivery driver had come looking for Valeria earlier that day. When Érika mentioned Valeria’s name, the man appeared confused. Although she offered to take the package, he insisted it had to be delivered personally. The man left without leaving anything, commenting on when Valeria would return.

Érika described the package as being in a “starry” bag, which later became relevant because it was suspected to contain the firearm used in the attack. Valeria reacted with anxiety when informed about the delivery, stating, “Maybe they were going to kill me.” Minutes later, she expressed a desire to leave the salon, saying, “I’m going to go because I have a bad feeling.”

Throughout the live stream, Valeria encountered at least three individuals who entered the salon under seemingly harmless pretenses. One person brought coffee, while another delivered a plush toy. Although these encounters seemed innocuous at the time, it was later clear something sinister was brewing.

During the stream, Valeria received text messages from a friend named Viviana, who urged her to stay at the salon. In a moment of frustration, Valeria said, “She wants me to wait because she wants to see my face. Hurry, I have to go!”

Shortly after these comments, a man entered the salon posing as a delivery driver. He asked for Valeria by name, and upon her confirmation, he shot her twice, once in the abdomen and again in the head. Valeria collapsed in front of her desk, where she was live streaming.

Following the gunfire, Érika quickly ended the stream, a move that sparked debate online as viewers noted her calm demeanor in the midst of chaos. There were no immediate signs of panic as she acted to stop the broadcast.

Emergency services responded to a 911 call, but paramedics confirmed Valeria had no vital signs upon arrival. Her body was taken by forensics teams, and the area was cordoned off for investigation. The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office later opened a case following the feminicide protocol.

The incident unfolded around 6:30 PM on Servidor Público Avenue in the Real del Carmen neighborhood. Investigators are currently gathering testimonies, video evidence, and clues from the scene. As of now, no one has been arrested.
