Zapopan, Jalisco – Valeria Márquez, a 23-year-old TikTok influencer, was shot dead on May 13, 2025, while live streaming from her beauty salon, Blossom The Beauty Lounge. The shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. when a man reportedly entered the salon and opened fire, striking Márquez multiple times.

The Jalisco State Attorney General’s Office is treating the incident as a feminicide. According to initial reports, local police confirmed the victim’s death after responding to a 911 emergency call.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene found that Márquez had no vital signs. In the aftermath, investigators from the Attorney General’s Office, alongside forensic experts, began collecting evidence and witness statements to piece together the events leading up to the tragic shooting.

Witnesses at the scene described a chaotic scene, with many patrons in the salon witnessing the attack unfold live on social media. A video, which has circulated online, captures the moments leading up to Márquez’s death.

The alleged shooter, reportedly dressed as a delivery person, fled the scene on a motorcycle after the incident, prompting a search for the suspect.

Márquez, who was known for her beauty and lifestyle content, had gained a significant following on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Before her death, she posted a photo from her salon on Instagram, showcasing her work as both an influencer and an entrepreneur.

The circumstances surrounding Márquez’s death remain under investigation. Authorities have asked the public for any information that could assist in identifying the assailant.
