Tim Tebow Tri Cities Community Prayer Breakfast

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WCYB) — On Monday, approximately 1,700 people gathered at the MeadowView Convention Center for the first annual Tri-Cities Community Prayer Breakfast.

The event included breakfast, live music, and a keynote address from former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, who spoke about faith and his charitable work.

Organizer Tom King emphasized unity among Christians, stating, “We need to come together, because we can do so much more together than we can apart.”

Tebow’s speech included a reference to his time at the University of Florida and a famous basketball game between the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers, which he used to illustrate the importance of teamwork. “It matters who’s on your team. It matters whose team you’re on,” he said.

U.S. Rep. Diana Harshbarger provided a welcoming statement, sharing her commitment to pray for the nation and the power of prayer to lead to unexpected paths.

During the event, Grammy Award-winning tenor Aaron Blake performed several Christian songs, while local pastors offered prayers for various community sectors, including families and schools.

Tebow encouraged attendees to spread the gospel. “We’re in Tennessee. You never said that about the Volunteers,” he joked, urging everyone to share their faith.

The Tri-Cities Community Prayer Breakfast aims to foster connection and collaboration among the region’s Christian community.
