Today Show Hosts Reunite for 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
NEW YORK CITY, NY — The Today Show cohosts are set to reunite for the 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade airing live on NBC and Peacock on Thursday, November 27, starting at 8:30 a.m. This year’s parade will feature a special return of former cohost Hoda Kotb, adding to the excitement of the beloved tradition.
“We got our wish granted by Santa,” Al Roker expressed his enthusiasm about Kotb’s return during a recent interview with Travel + Leisure. Savannah Guthrie remarked, “It’s what we wanted—she’s all wrapped up in a bow.” Their sentiments reflect the tight bond formed over years of collaborating on the show.
Fans can expect to witness the parade as it winds from West 77th Street and Central Park West to Sixth Avenue and 34th Street, stopping right outside Macy's flagship store. “There’s a particular holiday magic in the air when we come together,” Guthrie noted, highlighting their shared excitement, particularly when Roker joins them on set.
Roker reflected on the tradition, recalling his childhood dreams of attending the parade and noting the joy it brings each year. “Growing up in New York City, we would always ask my dad to take us to see the parade,” he said, reminiscing on the thrill of the experience.
This year promises an impressive lineup, including new balloons like Buzz Lightyear and Mario, as well as performances from Broadway hits such as “Just In Time” and appearances by stars like Busta Rhymes and Ciara. “The real lucky ones will be the viewers who get to be a part of this,” Kotb said, emphasizing the sense of community the parade fosters.
The live event is poised to attract over 31 million viewers, continuing its legacy as a cherished Thanksgiving tradition.
