Tokhan Sahu Sworn in as Minister of State in PM Modi’s Cabinet 2024
In a significant development, Tokhan Sahu from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, has been appointed as Minister of State in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s renewed Cabinet for 2024. The oath-taking ceremony took place in the presence of PM Modi, marking Sahu’s first venture into the Lok Sabha as an elected parliamentarian.
Sahu, who is a prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), had a stellar electoral victory in the recent elections from the Bilaspur constituency. Born on October 15, 1969, in a village in the Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh, Sahu’s journey from a village panchayat member to a Member of Parliament is laudable.
He is currently serving as the State President of the BJP Kisan Morcha, showcasing his leadership within the party structure. Sahu’s win from Bilaspur constituency for the 7th time further solidifies the BJP’s stronghold in the region.
In the electoral battle for the Loremi Vidhan Sabha seat, Sahu outstripped his nearest rival, Devendra Yadav from the Congress, bagging a significant margin of votes. His dedication to public service and party loyalty have been key attributes driving his political career.
