Tom Hanks’ Pacific Palisades Home Spared as Wildfires Ravage LA
Tom Hanks‘ $26 million Pacific Palisades home narrowly escaped destruction as wildfires tore through Los Angeles this week. The actor’s four-bedroom, five-bathroom property, purchased in 2010, remains intact while neighboring homes were consumed by flames, according to photos obtained by Page Six on Thursday.
The Palisades Fire, which erupted Tuesday morning, has destroyed over 1,000 homes and businesses in the area. Hanks’ son, Chet Hanks, expressed his anguish on Instagram, stating, “The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground rn. Pray for the Palisades.”
While the Hanks family’s current residence was spared, their former Spanish-style villa in the same neighborhood, purchased as newlyweds and sold in 2014, was not as fortunate. The 1929-built property was among the structures lost to the inferno.
Celebrities across Los Angeles have been impacted by the devastating fires. Paris Hilton shared emotional photos of her family home, which was “reduced to ashes.” In a heartfelt Instagram post, she wrote, “It’s not just walls and roofs—it’s the memories that made those houses homes.”
As of Thursday, approximately 180,000 people were under evacuation orders, with five confirmed fatalities. The Hollywood Hills evacuation order has since been lifted, but the region remains on high alert as firefighters continue to battle the blazes.
