Tom Parker Bowles, the son of Queen Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowles, has been making headlines recently with the release of his new book, “Cooking & The Crown: Royal Recipes From Queen Victoria to King Charles III“. In an interview, Parker Bowles discussed his latest literary endeavor, which delves into the culinary history of the British royal family, featuring recipes such as turtle soup, mutton dishes, and oeufs Suzette.

Parker Bowles, a food writer, shared insights into his research process, which involved accessing royal archives and kitchens. He described himself as a “geek” who relished the opportunity to uncover century-old biscuit recipes stored at Windsor. Despite potential criticisms of nepotism, Parker Bowles defended his work by highlighting his 25 years of professional independence from his royal connections.

In addition to his book, Parker Bowles addressed personal health concerns. He has recently made significant lifestyle changes, including eliminating alcohol from his diet for three days a week and incorporating reformer Pilates into his routine. This decision was motivated by his doctor’s advice, who humorously pointed out that his rosé consumption was equivalent to eating 18 cheeseburgers.

Parker Bowles also spoke about his mother, Queen Camilla, refuting rumors that she is a heavy drinker and smoker. He emphasized that Queen Camilla rarely drinks and has never smoked, contrary to popular portrayals. He described her as someone he enjoys spending time with, including having dinner and taking strolls in Scotland.

Currently, Queen Camilla and King Charles III are on a royal tour of Australia and Samoa, although the trip has been shortened due to King Charles’ ongoing cancer treatment. Despite some public backlash, the couple has been well-received by many Australians. Queen Camilla even broke royal protocol by taking a selfie with a fan during the tour, a gesture that is not commonly practiced by members of the Royal Family).
