Tommy Brennan Reveals Childhood Memories on SNL’s Weekend Update

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Tommy Brennan, one of the few Minnesotans to join the cast of “Saturday Night Live,” finally made a notable appearance during the show’s 51st season on the Weekend Update segment this past weekend.
Brennan joined host Colin Jost to share humorous anecdotes about his upbringing in Minnesota, highlighting the significant aspects of his childhood. Dressed in a gold-colored jacket that resembled a Minnesota Gophers outfit, he remarked, “I’m from the Midwest. Not sure if you can tell from my kind eyes and secret drinking problem.”
During his monologue, he shared that he comes from a large family of eight kids and joked about growing up with a cafeteria-style milk machine at home. He also humorously critiqued his own All-American look, saying, “I look like a locket photo during World War I, like I was a guy who was really good at football pre-integration.”
Despite limited screen time throughout the episode, Brennan made a brief appearance as a dancer in a sketch alongside host Sabrina Carpenter, who portrayed a motivational speaker.
Weekend Update continues to be an essential platform for new cast members to showcase their talents. Observers are excited for the next episode of SNL, set to air on November 1, featuring host Miles Teller.
