Ada Oklahoma Tornado Damage Willard Elementary School

ADA, Okla. — Early Tuesday morning, a possible tornado damaged several buildings in Ada, including significant destruction at Willard Elementary School on East Ninth Street near Mississippi Avenue.

Field Meteorologist Michael Armstrong reported that part of the school’s roof had been torn away, creating a hazardous situation for students and staff. Debris and insulation were scattered across the area surrounding the school.

“Most of the roof is ripped off, and some of it is hanging off the side of the building,” Armstrong said during a live report. “There are gas leaks in the vicinity, and sirens continue to sound as emergency personnel work the scene.”

Armstrong noted that a large tree was snapped and thrown to the ground across from the school. Footage from the scene shows extensive debris throughout Ada, indicating widespread damage in the area.

Earlier in the morning, Armstrong visited the site of a mobile home that was completely destroyed by the storm. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported there, although damage was significant.

According to local reports, search and rescue teams were dispatched to different parts of the city to check on residents affected by the storm. Alarms continued to ring out as emergency crews evaluated the situation.

This incident marks another instance of severe weather affecting communities in Oklahoma, highlighting the importance of preparedness and quick response by emergency services.
