Toronto is currently facing severe flooding as heavy rainfall continues to batter the city and surrounding areas in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning, predicting up to 125 millimetres of rain to fall in the region.

The ongoing downpour has led to significant flooding in key areas. Lake Shore Boulevard has been closed in both directions between British Columbia Road and Strachan Avenue due to water accumulation. Similarly, the southbound lanes of the Don Valley Parkway are blocked from Bayview Avenue to the Gardiner Expressway due to flooding.

City officials have warned residents to exercise caution and take necessary safety measures, including abandoning stalled cars if water levels rise rapidly and keeping away from creeks and river banks.

Union Station, a major transit hub in Toronto, has been inundated with ankle-high water, causing disruptions to commuters navigating through the area. Photos and videos shared on social media show people wading through the flooded corridors of the station.

Meanwhile, on Simcoe Street, a vehicle was partially submerged under an overpass, highlighting the extent of the flooding across the city. The Don River has also seen a surge in water levels, impacting traffic on the Don Valley Parkway.
