Tragedy Strikes: Hathras Stampede Claims 121 Lives, CM Yogi Announces Judicial Probe
Uttar Pradesh witnessed a horrific tragedy as the Hathras stampede claimed the lives of 121 people during a religious congregation. The incident occurred in the village of Phulrai near Sikandrarau. The event was a Satsang led by religious preacher Baba Narayan Hari.
The stampede broke out towards the end of the gathering, leading to chaos and the loss of many lives. Among those deceased were women, children, and men who were part of the congregation.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and announced a judicial inquiry to investigate the circumstances that led to the tragic stampede.
An FIR was filed by the Uttar Pradesh Police following the incident, although Baba Narayan Hari was not named as an accused in the report. The FIR included multiple accusations against the organizers for their roles in the overcrowded event.
Forensic experts and a dog squad have been deployed to gather evidence at the scene of the stampede. The local authorities are working to understand the causes behind the stampede and ensure accountability for those responsible.
