BRISTOL, Rhode Island — A young college student from Rhode Island has died suddenly and unexpectedly. Paige Moreau, a 22-year-old architecture student at Roger Williams University, passed away on April 26 while participating in a study abroad program in Florence, Italy.

Moreau, a native of Manville, Rhode Island, was a standout student and deeply involved in her community. She earned Dean’s List honors in multiple semesters, including Spring and Fall 2023, and Fall 2024. Additionally, she received the Resident Assistant of the Year Award for her leadership and dedication.

At Roger Williams University, Moreau served as a resident assistant, head resident assistant of Willow Hall in Fall 2024, and an orientation advisor, where she helped new students transition to college life. Beyond her academic achievements, she gained practical experience through an internship at Bisbano+ Associates Inc. in Providence, where she honed her skills in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Photoshop.

Her engagement extended to extracurricular activities as well; she was a cheerleader and participated in track and field while attending Lincoln High School, graduating with the Class of 2022. Moreau also worked at the MacColl YMCA, where she progressed from camp counselor to camp coordinator.

Roger Williams University released a statement expressing the community’s sorrow over Moreau’s passing. “The RWU community is heartbroken to announce the passing of Paige Moreau, a beloved member of the Class of 2026,” the statement read.

“Paige was actively involved in the RWU campus community, making a lasting impact as an Architecture student. Her leadership, mentorship, and spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed.”

Friends and classmates described Paige as an amazing young woman with an infectious personality and smile. Services honoring her life have not yet been announced.
