Tragic House Fire in Abbotsford Claims One Life and Leaves Two Critical
A devastating early morning house fire in Abbotsford has claimed the life of at least one person, while leaving two others in critical condition. The tragic incident occurred at a residence near Pineview Avenue and Parkview Street in the Clearbrook neighborhood of Abbotsford.
Upon receiving reports of people inside the burning house, the City of Abbotsford‘s Fire Rescue Services (AFRS) were promptly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the fire crews were met with a scene of intense smoke and flames emanating from the rear of the residence.
All six occupants trapped inside the home were successfully rescued by the courageous efforts of the responding AFRS teams. The individuals were then transferred into the care of BC Ambulance Service and are set to receive assistance from Emergency Support Services.
The fire was eventually contained by the firefighting crews, ensuring that the flames did not spread to neighboring structures. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the devastating fire that led to the loss of life and injuries.
BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) also sprang into action, with multiple paramedics mobilized to provide crucial medical assistance at the site of the fire. An air ambulance was put on standby as part of the emergency response efforts.
“Paramedics rendered emergency medical care to a total of six individuals at the scene. Three of the patients were swiftly transported to hospital via ground ambulance, their conditions deemed critical. Meanwhile, two other patients, after receiving care and evaluation from the paramedics on site, decided against hospital transport,” shared paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites.
The BC Coroners Service has commenced its investigation into the fatality resulting from the tragic house fire. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
