Tragic Incident: Family Rottweilers Attack and Kill 5-Year-Old Girl in California
In a devastating incident, a 5-year-old girl was fatally attacked by her family’s dogs in Covina, California, on Sunday. According to authorities, the attack occurred in the backyard of the family’s home in a gated community on the 2500 block of Palomino Drive.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene around noon and found the girl had been attacked by two of the family dogs. Los Angeles County Fire paramedics rushed the girl to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 1:23 p.m.
Investigators identified the dogs responsible for the attack as a 10-year-old Rottweiler and a 6-year-old Rottweiler mix. The home also had two other dogs, and all four pets were removed from the premises.
The girl had lived with the dogs her entire life, and there were no prior reported incidents involving the dogs. One other family member sustained minor injuries during the incident.
No foul play is suspected, but the incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
