A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Gorton, Manchester, late Sunday night when a woman, Alberta Obinim, was fatally stabbed in her home.

The police received emergency calls around 11:20 PM and rushed to Barnard Road, where they discovered Alberta injured in the street. Sadly, she passed away at the scene.

Along with Alberta, her 17-year-old daughter and 64-year-old husband were also injured and rushed to the hospital with serious stab wounds. Their conditions are currently life-threatening.

Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Preliminary reports suggest that he was known to the family, and the incident is being treated as an isolated case.

Witnesses reported hearing a lot of shouting and screaming before the police arrived. The area has been cordoned off, and forensic teams are investigating, with multiple tents set up at the scene.

Friends and coworkers of Alberta have shared their shock and grief, describing her as a “mother to everyone” and saying she brought joy and laughter to those around her.

The police have urged anyone with information about the attack to come forward, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to support those affected.
