Trenton Market Sells $50,000 Powerball Ticket in Saturday Drawing
TRENTON, N.J. — A $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold at a corner market in Mercer County for Saturday’s drawing, the New Jersey Lottery announced Monday.
The third-prize ticket was purchased at Torres Lopez Market Deli on Stuyvesant Avenue in Trenton. It matched four numbers plus the Powerball: 8, 15, 17, 53, and 66, with the Powerball number 14 and a Power Play multiplier of 3X.
No one across the country won Saturday’s $48 million jackpot. However, a second-prize ticket worth $1 million was sold in Texas, matching five numbers but not the Powerball. Additionally, no one won the $10 million Double Play drawing, with winning numbers 2, 5, 52, 59, and 60, and a Double Play number of 16.
Monday’s Powerball jackpot is estimated at $56 million, with a cash option of $24.9 million. The odds of winning the jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. Players purchasing a $2 ticket have a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds of winning a third prize of $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
