Trevor Bauer Wins Default Judgment Against Sexual Assault Accuser

Los Angeles, CA — Former Major League Baseball pitcher Trevor Bauer has been awarded nearly $310,000 in a default judgment against Lindsey Hill, the woman who accused him of sexual assault. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled on June 2, 2025, that Hill violated the terms of a settlement agreement from their legal dispute.
Bauer’s lawsuit, initially filed in October 2023, claimed that Hill made false statements on social media that constituted breaches of their agreement. The settlement had prohibited either party from discussing financial exchanges related to the case. Hill was found responsible for 22 breaches, for which Bauer sought $10,000 for each violation.
On June 2, Judge Daniel Crowley determined that Hill owed Bauer $309,832.02, which includes $220,000 for the alleged violations, as well as attorney fees and costs. “The evidence presented warranted this ruling given Hill’s failure to engage in the legal process,” Crowley stated.
Bauer’s attorneys revealed that Hill’s statements claiming she received payment linked to the lawsuit were particularly damaging. In February, Hill’s legal team had indicated she would receive a sum from her insurance, although the amount was never disclosed.
Hill did not contest the lawsuit and was not present in court for the decisions that led to Bauer’s victory. In his declaration, Bauer expressed concern over Hill’s previous actions, stating, “Given her history of making false claims, I worried that she would perpetuate untruths regarding the settlement.”
The former Dodgers pitcher, whose career faced scrutiny amid these allegations and a subsequent MLB suspension, has not played in the majors since 2021. Currently, he is signed to the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan.
