Trevor Noah Returns as Host of the Grammy Awards
Trevor Noah has been announced as the host of the Grammy Awards for the fourth consecutive year. The annual music event will take place on February 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Noah expressed his excitement about the role, noting that he enjoys live events like the Grammys where he can offer real-time commentary.
SZA leads the pack with nine Grammy nominations, followed closely by Phoebe Bridgers, Serban Ghenea, and Jack Antonoff. Other notable artists also received multiple nominations, including Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and Brandy Clark.
Trevor Noah, originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, rose to prominence as the host of Comedy Central‘s “The Daily Show.” He has received numerous accolades, including two Emmy Awards and being named one of TIME magazine‘s 100 most influential people in 2018. His memoir, “Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood,” was a best-seller.
Noah admitted to feeling some nerves about hosting the Grammy Awards, as he has to strike a balance between comedy and being respectful to the artists in attendance. However, he is looking forward to the unpredictable nature of live events and the opportunity to engage with the audience.
Before his success in the United States, Noah had a successful career in South Africa, hosting his own late-night talk show called “Tonight with Trevor Noah” and being a well-known comedian in the country. He made history as the first South African comedian to perform on “The Tonight Show” and the “Late Show with David Letterman.”
