Trumps Host Halloween Parade at White House, Hand Out Candy
WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump hosted the annual Halloween parade at the White House on Thursday evening, October 30, 2025, handing out candy to costumed children.
Wearing a suit and a red hat that read “USA,” Trump was joined by Melania, who wore a beige coat. Despite their lack of costumes, the couple welcomed dozens of young trick-or-treaters, including the children of White House staffers, who lined up excitedly for candy.
The first lady, known for her fashion sense, wore a classic coat that was a nod to Halloween with bold orange details. The event featured spooky decorations and music, with the US Air Force Strolling Strings band playing “Thriller” as the couple greeted the children.
As they handed out treats, the Trumps especially enjoyed interacting with one group of siblings dressed as a Secret Service agent, the president, and the first lady. Trump gave the lookalike pair high-fives and posed for photographs with them.
Among the attendees were military families, law enforcement families, and children of Trump administration officials. Many children wore popular costumes such as superheroes, princesses, ghosts, and skeletons. One young boy stole attention in a particularly unusual costume resembling a filthy toilet.
The event, which lasted about an hour, drew hundreds of children, fostering a festive spirit in the White House grounds, decorated with carved pumpkins and autumn leaves. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and celebration, showcasing Halloween as a beloved tradition in American culture.
As the evening concluded, the Trumps continued to engage with families, ensuring a memorable Halloween at the White House.
