LAS VEGAS — A shooting at a gym in Las Vegas on Friday left two people dead, including the shooter, and injured three others, according to police officials.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported that the incident occurred at the Las Vegas Athletic Club on the city’s west side around noon. Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire.

Police Undersheriff Andrew Walsh confirmed that one victim was shot dead inside the gym. The suspect, armed with a handgun, attempted to flee but was confronted by officers who shot him. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Witnesses recounted the chaos during the incident. Claudio Vigani told KLAS-TV, “They said ‘Get out, get out, get out,’ then I saw the dead guy next to the machine.” Another witness, Gary Steward, noted that their stop at a nutrition store may have saved their lives, stating, “If we hadn’t stopped, we would have been at the front desk where the shooter entered.”

The police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. This tragic event marks a troubling chapter in Las Vegas, known for its vibrant yet at times violent atmosphere.
