UConn Hosts FIU in Key College Football Matchup This Saturday
East Hartford, Connecticut — The UConn Huskies will host the Florida International Panthers on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.
UConn, currently 3-2, is attempting to build on their recent success as they pursue a potential bowl game appearance in Year 4 under head coach Jim Mora. The Huskies have won their last two games and are looking to extend their winning streak to three against the Panthers, who sit at 2-2.
“We need to keep stacking victories,” Mora said during a press conference. “Every game is crucial as we aim for a bowl bid.”
Running back Cam Edwards has been a standout player for UConn, averaging over 100 rushing yards per game and scoring six touchdowns this season. He faces a Florida International defense that allows 4.79 yards per carry, ranking 109th among Football Bowl Subdivision teams.
On the other hand, Florida International has struggled to win games outside of the Sunshine State. They hope to change that trend this weekend.
For viewers, CBS Sports Network will air the game live, providing full coverage of all key storylines from Week 6 of the college football season.
The matchup is one of seven games being featured on CBS Sports Network during this action-packed weekend of college football.
