UNLV Rebels Face Colorado State Rams in Crucial Showdown
Fort Collins, Colorado — This Saturday, the UNLV Rebels will face the Colorado State Rams in a pivotal Mountain West Conference matchup. After starting the season strong at 6-0, the Rebels have fallen to two consecutive losses, putting their current record at 2-2 in conference play.
The Rebels lost their last games to the Boise State Broncos and New Mexico Lobos, which has put them in a must-win situation to keep their hopes alive for a third straight Mountain West Championship appearance.
UNLV’s offense has been impressive throughout the season; however, their defense has struggled significantly, allowing 147 points over their last three games. To rebound this week, the Rebels will need a strong defensive performance against the Rams.
On the other side, the Colorado State Rams have also had a disappointing season, standing at 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the Mountain West. They are coming off two losses as well but will aim to turn things around at home in Canvas Stadium.
This matchup has seen a shift in expectations from the start of the season when it was considered one of the toughest on UNLV’s schedule. Despite the Rams’ struggles, they will be fighting hard as they look to salvage their season.
Kickoff is set for 9:30 PM EST, and fans can catch the game on FS1.
Key players to watch include UNLV’s Anthony Colandrea, who has been instrumental for the Rebels, and Colorado State’s Jalen Dupree, who will need to lead the running game after a lackluster offensive season.
