Upcoming Winter Storm Alert: Snow Expected Across Middle Tennessee

Middle Tennessee Snow Forecast Weather

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A winter storm is set to impact Middle Tennessee beginning Tuesday evening, prompting officials to issue a Storm 5 Alert that will remain in effect until Wednesday afternoon.

The alert comes as cold air settles over the region and an area of low pressure develops to the south, drawing moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. This combination is expected to create favorable conditions for snow accumulation.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for West Tennessee, effective from noon Tuesday to noon Wednesday. This warning may be expanded eastward as forecasters continue to monitor the situation.

While it is still early to predict exact snow totals, forecasters indicate that there is a good chance for totals of one inch or more across the affected areas. High temperatures on Wednesday are expected to be in the 20s, with nighttime lows dipping into the teens.

The cold snap will be compounded by a northerly wind, which is anticipated to make temperatures feel like they are in the single digits for parts of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.

The Storm 5 Weather Team advises residents to stay tuned for updates as new data becomes available in the coming days. As always, they encourage caution while traveling under potentially hazardous conditions.
