Mo Bamba Utah Jazz Training Camp

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz have signed former lottery pick Mo Bamba as they prepare for the 2025-26 NBA season. Bamba, who was selected sixth overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2018 NBA Draft, joins the Jazz just days before training camp begins.

The signing comes after the Jazz’s G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, acquired Bamba in a trade on Thursday. In the deal, the Stars sent Isaiah Wong and Keshawn Justice to the Birmingham Squadron for Bamba’s rights.

Bamba, 27, has been with Utah before; he was traded to the Jazz in February but was waived before ever playing a game for the team. Last season, he averaged 4.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during his time with the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans.

In a recent social media post, several Jazz players shared a photo of Bamba hiking with the team, hinting at his connection to the franchise. It is expected that Bamba will provide depth to the center position, likely starting as the third center behind Jusuf Nurkic and Walker Kessler.

While the details of Bamba’s contract have not been disclosed, the Jazz currently have 15 players on guaranteed contracts. As teams must trim their rosters to this limit by opening night, Utah may need to cut one player before the season begins.

Training camp for the Jazz starts on Monday, and they will face the Houston Rockets in their preseason opener on October 8. As the team moves forward, Bamba’s role will be evaluated during this critical period.
