Diana Princess Of Wales Althorp Estate

Northamptonshire, England – Nearly two years after opening to the public, Diana, Princess of Wales‘ childhood home has been vandalized. The incident occurred at the Althorp Estate, where one of the farmhouses was burned down.

Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, announced the news on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. He expressed his shock, stating, “Stunned to learn that one of @AlthorpHouse’s farmhouses – fortunately, unoccupied at the time – was apparently burnt down by vandals last night. With thanks to @northantsfire for doing their very best. So very sad that anyone would think this a fun thing to do.”

The Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to the blaze, finding the two-story building fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews used breathing apparatus and hose-reel jets to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to other areas of the estate. A crew remained on the scene to ensure the safety of the site and to put out any remaining hotspots.

As of May 31, 2025, authorities suspect arson as the cause of the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. Further details about the vandals have yet to be released.

This incident raises concerns for the historic estate, which serves as a tribute to Princess Diana’s legacy.
