Virginia Flags Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Former Senator Frank M. Ruff Jr.

Senator Frank M. Ruff Jr. passed away on October 26, 2024, due to complications related to kidney cancer. He had been elected to the Virginia Senate in 2023 but resigned from his seat to undergo treatment for his illness.
Governor Youngkin praised Senator Ruff’s dedication to public service, highlighting his three decades of commitment to the Commonwealth. “We honor his three decades of unwavering commitment to serving the Commonwealth,” Youngkin said. “Senator Ruff’s dedication has shaped policies and initiatives that will be felt across the Commonwealth not for years—but generations to come, establishing a lasting legacy that reflects his profound impact on the community.”
