PULASKI COUNTY, Va. — A Powerball ticket purchased at a local 7-Eleven has won a $1 million prize after matching five numbers in the Wednesday night drawing.

The winning ticket was bought at the 7-Eleven located at 4625 Cleburne Boulevard in Dublin, according to the Virginia Lottery. The drawing on November 12 revealed the winning numbers as 29-39-43-51-65, with the Powerball number being 23. The ticket successfully matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball.

The winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize. The Virginia Lottery advises winners to sign the back of their ticket to establish ownership before claiming the prize.

Lottery officials confirmed that this ticket was the only one in Virginia to match the first five numbers and one of only two winning tickets in the entire country for that drawing. No tickets matched all six numbers to win the grand Powerball jackpot of $512 million.

Following the drawing, the jackpot for the next Powerball drawing on Saturday is estimated to grow to $546 million. The 7-Eleven store that sold the winning ticket will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery.

All profits from the Virginia Lottery support K-12 education in the state. In the last fiscal year, Pulaski County received over $4.5 million in lottery funds for local schools. Overall, the Virginia Lottery contributed more than $901 million to K-12 education, accounting for about 10% of the total education budget in the commonwealth.

Powerball drawings occur at 10:59 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with the odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot at 1 in 292.2 million. The chance of winning any Powerball prize stands at 1 in 25.
