Cape Coral, Florida — Voddie Baucham Jr., a prominent pastor and president of Founders Ministries, passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 56. His family shared the sad news via social media, stating that he suffered an emergency medical incident earlier that day.

In a heartfelt announcement on Instagram, the family expressed their sorrow: “We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living.” They also asked for prayers for his wife, Bridget, their children, and grandchildren.

Founders Ministries confirmed Baucham’s death in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. His passing was described as a transition to the “immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student.” The post concluded with a quote from Psalm 116:15: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”

Voddie Baucham Jr., born on March 11, 1969, grew up in a Christian home in Los Angeles. Raised by a single mother after his father left for a football career, he pursued education at Houston Baptist University and earned his Master of Divinity at Western Seminary in Portland. Baucham began his ministry at Grace Family Baptist Church in Spring, Texas, and later served as Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Zambia.

He was widely recognized for his powerful preaching and several publications on theology, gaining a significant following in Reformed Baptist circles. Videos of his sermons often went viral, establishing him as a leading voice in the community.

Baucham is survived by his wife Bridget, whom he married in 1989, and their nine children. Tributes have begun to pour in, with many expressing shock and sorrow over his passing. One supporter wrote, “This is so shocking. What a life lived — and what a massive impact he made on so many!”

Another fan shared their devastation, stating, “I wanted so badly to see one of his sermons in person. My favorite pastor. Praying for his family.” The legacy Baucham leaves behind will be remembered by those who followed his teachings and supported his ministry.
