Voices of Fire Choir Opens World Series with Powerful Anthems
Toronto, Canada — The World Series kicked off with an unforgettable performance by the Voices of Fire choir at Rogers Centre Tuesday night. Fans witnessed not just baseball action, but also a stirring rendition of both the American and Canadian national anthems.
Before the first pitch, viewers were captivated as the choir showcased their talent alongside a local Toronto orchestra. The Voices of Fire choir, created by music producer Pharrell Williams and his uncle, Bishop Ezekiel Williams, has made a name for itself since its inception.
The group’s formation was showcased in the Netflix docuseries titled, “Voices of Fire,” where they aimed to build a gospel choir in Virginia. Since then, they have remained active in the music scene and have collaborated with Pharrell on tracks including the acclaimed song, “JOY (Unspeakable).”
Recently, the choir released a new album titled “Ophanim,” featuring 13 tracks and collaborations with artists like CeeLo Green, Quavo, and Zacardi Cortez. Fans at the World Series were not just treated to baseball but also a glimpse of the vibrant musical talents that the Voices of Fire continue to share.
As fireworks lit up the sky following their performance, the atmosphere in the stadium was electric, prelude to an exciting night of baseball.
