NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Residents in Nashville and surrounding areas should keep umbrellas handy this week as rain and storms are on the way. The forecast predicts cool, dense fog this morning, followed by a mix of clouds and sunshine later in the afternoon with a high near 80 degrees.

As the day progresses, a stray rain shower may occur, with evening thunderstorms expected. Lows tonight will drop to the 60s. Additionally, Thursday is set to bring similar conditions, with patchy fog in the morning and a high in the low 80s.

Friday morning will start mild with a mix of clouds and sunshine but will transition to scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon as temperatures reach the upper 70s. The weekend looks better, with only a few showers expected on Saturday while Sunday should be dry with highs around 80.

Looking ahead to next week, warmer weather is anticipated, with temperatures possibly reaching the upper 80s. A slight chance of rain is expected on Monday, followed by a warm breeze on Tuesday, which could see the first 90-degree day of the year for Nashville.

Meanwhile, another report from KFVS indicates a wet and stormy Easter weekend for northern regions, where temperatures will also be warm. Scattered storms are anticipated, particularly in northern counties early Sunday. However, severe weather threats are considered low, offering a more pleasant afternoon with highs in the low 80s.

In Saginaw, Mich., locals are preparing for a mix of rain and storms today, with midday showers expected and a potential for sub-severe weather. Rain gear is advised, as heavier showers could arrive later tonight ahead of a cold front.
