Washington D.c. Rain And Storms

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Residents of the Washington D.C. area should prepare for a week of rain and storms, with Weather Impact Alerts issued for Tuesday and Wednesday. The alerts warn of heavy rain, with some areas expecting between 1 to 4 inches throughout the week.

On Tuesday, a steady rain is forecasted, with the potential for isolated thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon. The National Weather Service has placed a Flood Watch for areas west of I-95 in Maryland, as well as Northern Virginia and parts of the District. Rainfall could lead to localized flooding, especially in areas already saturated from previous storms.

The temperature on Tuesday is expected to reach highs between 66 and 71 degrees Fahrenheit, with southeast winds of 10 to 20 mph. Rain will begin early in the morning, impacting the morning commute. A similar forecast is expected on Wednesday, with scattered showers and possible storms, although it will be less intense than Tuesday.

“Plan on wet conditions during the morning, and keep an eye on the weather throughout the day,” said a spokesperson from the First Alert Weather Team.

Looking toward the end of the week, conditions are predicted to improve, with a warm-up expected as high temperatures may climb back into the 80s. By Thursday and Friday, while rain chances persist, they will likely be more isolated, allowing for drier conditions heading into the weekend.

Residents are advised to stay updated through local weather apps, such as the WUSA9 app, for the latest information on this week’s forecast.
