Weather Conditions In Atlanta And Myrtle Beach

ATLANTA, Ga. — Weather forecasts indicate a continuation of showers and storms in the Southeast as two significant weather systems move through the region this week.

Lingering showers and storms are expected through the evening hours in Atlanta, with temperatures settling in the upper 50s to lower 60s overnight. Meteorologists say a cut-off low pressure system that has been affecting the area for several days is predicted to migrate northward on Wednesday, possibly bringing a few wrap-around storms as it exits.

While severe weather is not anticipated, a rogue strong storm cannot be ruled out. Wednesday’s afternoon temperatures are expected to rise to the lower 80s. By the end of the week, conditions will become muggier, with temperatures peaking in the upper 80s and possibly nearing 90 degrees.

Myrtle Beach, S.C., will also experience chances of showers and storms, particularly this evening. A large low pressure area is contributing to high humidity levels in the region, which may lead to heavy rainfall in certain areas. A LEVEL 1 risk indicates the potential for a few strong storms, with gusty winds and lightning also possible.

The rain is expected to subside as the low pressure system weakens throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, but some scattered showers may still occur. As conditions improve, temperatures are projected to reach the middle and upper 70s. By the end of the week, summertime weather will set in, with temperatures expected in the mid-80s at the coast and around 90 inland.

In Central Wisconsin, a Frost Advisory has been issued for late Thursday night into Friday morning, where temperatures may drop to the low 30s. Sunshine is anticipated for Friday, with warmer conditions following. However, elevated fire danger alerts are in effect as drier weather returns over the weekend.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to be in the mid to upper 60s, while Mother’s Day will see highs around 80 degrees. Another weather system is forecast for the following week, which may bring showers and storms once again.
