Weezer Movie Stars Keanu Reeves as Villain Amid Exciting Reveals

LOS ANGELES, April 18, 2025 – The much-anticipated movie from the rock band Weezer has just gained more attention with the announcement that Keanu Reeves will portray the villain in the film. Reported by Jeff Sneider of The InSneider, the film will also feature a lineup of high-profile actors including Juliette Lewis, Eric Andre, Johnny Knoxville, and Ben Schwartz.
The project was announced during the band’s performance at the Coachella music festival last weekend, where guitarist Rivers Cuomo revealed that they have been diligently working on ‘the Weezer movie.’ This announcement comes on the heels of earlier public hints, including an October 2024 invitation to concertgoers for help with a large fight scene.
Sneider’s report details that the film will intertwine concert elements with a mockumentary format, showcasing the band members as themselves navigating a fictionalized version of their lives. This concept marries a concert film with a comedic, narrative-driven story.
Reeves’ villainous role is expected to complement the film’s unique theme, which is described by Sneider as a hybrid between ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ and ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,’ promising an entertaining mixture of reality and absurdity.
Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, known for their work on ‘Paranormal Activity 3’ and ‘4,’ are directing the film. While fans eagerly await more details, no official release date has been disclosed.
